Www Google Adsense

When I sign up for Google AdSense, I have to give my home adress.
How will Google use this address? Will they only send checks or also a “start up”-mail? Or do they not use it at all?

Can somebody tell me on how do I get the checks they pay on me. Or how do I received them. Do i need to go to the bank or they will just mail the money on me. For Example I join to google adsense and i am ready to receive my first payment in checks. How do I get them?
