Www Google Adsense

When I sign up for Google AdSense, I have to give my home adress.
How will Google use this address? Will they only send checks or also a “start up”-mail? Or do they not use it at all?

Even after granting the access to adsense from blogger i’m unable to use that.. .when i login to my blog its Showing ‘Your AdSense account needs verification. Please check your email for the Google AdSense Verification message.”
